Today we toured the food bank and even got some work experience there.

Through food banks, people in poverty have easy access to food and food loss is eliminated.

There are few food banks in Japan. Also, the food banks that I know of only handle items that can be stored for long periods of time and do not have meat or vegetables. Even if the food is still edible, it will not be offered if the expiration date has expired. Today, after visiting a food bank in Kamloops, I thought that if Japanese food banks were more flexible in their activities, the problems of poverty and food loss could be improved.

You may find yourself in poverty one day. It is a great idea to contribute to making the world a better place for when that time comes.
